Tonbo Aikido was formed in March 2021 by three teachers; Jenny Ousey, Nigel Porter and Laurence Hobson. As Aikido teachers they have the title of ‘Sensei’.
Sensei Jenny holds a 6th Dan and has trained in Aikido since 1987. Her Aikido journey can be read on the Takemusu Iwama Aikido Europe website

Sensei Nigel holds a 5th Dan and has trained in Aikido since 1991. His Aikido journey can be read on the Takemusu Iwama Aikido Europe website here.

In September 2021 Sensei Tony Sargeant, 7th Dan Shihan and principal of the Takemusu Iwama Aikido Europe organisation, agreed to become the technical director of Tonbo Aikido and accept the role of Dojocho (Dojo head).
Sensei Sargeant was appointed Saito Sensei’s official representative in the UK until his passing in 2002.
